Helpless, an independent film from Thor Moreno was an intriguing film that drew me in
effortlessly and had me engrossed in the film the entire time. I really liked how it was done in parts, or sections like chapters within a novel you would lovingly read. The plot is thoroughly planned and the acting is strategically on point.       

A frustrated couple are driving along engaging in a serious discussion of this much dreaded visit to Ned's dying Mother's house for her to see the baby. A flat renders them helpless stuck on the side of the road so naturally Ned gets out to flip on a new one. Strange sounds start to creepily undulate from within the deep dark woods warning him of the impending danger .

Morning arrives and the Sheriff pulls up to an alarming crime scene and the baby girl is missing. A man accused of an occult type of foul play leads him to the house of his crime scene and the frantic search for the baby begins. A proclaimed psychic Wendy eventually convinces the law to allow her to help them while a true crime novelist Abby Fulton weasels her way into it all- not smart!

Helpless is a hell of a twister that will smack you quite spitefully in the face while crudely laughing because you never even saw it coming- not even a clue! Thor Moreno seems to be a very promising writer and director who just might gift us with many more exciting titles for all of us to ingest hungrily.

Grace just doesn't seem to be herself lately, and her friends are very concerned for her well being. Kate plans an intervention assuming she is on dope but when she finally gets some alone time with Grace, it seems to be something altogether different that is going on with her. Her friends are now in as much danger as her but they just don't know it yet. .

When they see Grace she is sickly, pale and gaunt looking- seemingly to be knocking on deaths door
itself. Evil has come for them all and will work it's way into the house and into themselves. Soon the cell phones and landlines aren't working and their outing of intended help ends with a frantic fight with hell itself.

Mr. Toth is the Satanic leader who summons up help from 6 feet under to come out and play with these kids...to death! No one seems to take heed to the warnings, and putter around dealing with each other and next thing you know night has arrived. The mud covered skulls come for them all and have the intent of succeeding.  

Barricaded inside, Grace begins to go into labor and the final contraction expels this slimy covered creature that bursts thru it's sack slithers onto the floor where it attacks Kate while trying to devour her skin. William Hopkins Demon Resurrection was a fascinating sight for my sore eyes, I enjoyed this one thoroughly!

Here we have five friends from a University that are ready to bring in the New Year with a bang,
and this one will be the most memorable yet. Unfortunately for them a crazy virus is spreading faster than a wildfire thru some dried out brush. Forced to lock themselves indoors to try and ensue their safety all they have are tech devices to try and communicate for help.  

Friends or not, when thrown into such a stressful situation tension runs tight, tempers flare, and terror reigns. If I was there someone would have to snap my little neck because I would be running around a panicked mess! True colors tend to come out when fighting for your life- I mean would you let them in if your friend was sick? Or run like hell?

Antisocial portrays how one virus can spread from one simple spot are to all over the world. Wouldn't you want to fight for survival? You would do whatever it took to make it out of the ordeal alive, right? Instincts kick in and they do what needs to be done slaughter, push them off a balcony or throw them bastards down.

Watching the footage roll in you realize just how important it is to stay in contact with what is going on outside. To keep up with all the suicides and violence, they can even watch videoed attacks and mayhem among the streets that are online. You know things are bad when 911 has an answering machine! If you start to hallucinate and bleed from you nose and ears- your antisocial!

I have to admit I am an avid book reader who honestly would choose a story over a movie on any given occasion. Even when I didn't review films I still was this way and with Scary Slumber Party you luckily get the best of both worlds. Three girls get together for a slumber party and opt to tell scary stories instead of the lame old Truth or Dare.

 Each girl tries to out do the other with scary stories so that they can reign supreme- you know, typical girls catty as all hell!  The Dare was where a girl is forced to complete a task that was so mean and cruel that you just know something bad is going to happen. Pledge is about how a Goth girl is pledging to get into a Sorority that doesn't want her to succeed and are set on her failing.     

Back Stabber is the whole:is my boyfriend banging my best friend after she witnesses her bestie get numerous phone calls and texts from her man. She sits there steaming until she just can not take it anymore- shame, if only she waited a few seconds longer... Valentine's Prey has cutie Devanny Pinn
who has a secret admirer who finally reveals himself to her.

I had a total blast watching these stories and there are more than a handful  for you to enjoy. Jonathan Moody's Scary Story Slumber Party is destined to become a sure fire hit of an anthology series I can
guarantee you that! With interesting plots, hot chicks, and a way to even involve the main three characters into a background story of it's own.

About the Film

Infinite Santa 8000 is the feature length story based on the popular web series of the same name. The original Web Series is 13 episodes long on YouTube which features the same lead characters (Santa, Dr Shackleton, and Martha) but tells a separate story from the film. With a view count of over 720,000 views, the series has garnered a cult following of fans demanding more content. Filmmakers Michael Neel and Greg Ansin, the team behind Midnight Releasing’s Drive-In Horrorshow and the Web Series, decided to give the fans what they want. They took the characters and the universe and have created a full length film with a simple concept: A cyborg Santa Claus killing mutants and robo-people in a vast post apocalyptic wasteland in the year 8000.  With a heavy metal soundtrack, the film features epic battle scenes, violent killing, and a 100-Foot Evil Easter Bunny.

 

 

A thousand years ago the world completely collapsed. Not much remains, except for the mutants, scum, and robo-people. Everyone must kill to survive.

It is the year 8000. War, famine, and disease have ravaged the earth, transforming it into an inhospitable, desolate wasteland. Infinite Santa – half human and half machine – survives any way he can in this bleak world. her from a deadly situation, and now she is like a daughter to him. They have a hard life but a good one, living on Santa’s ranch with his robo-reindeer. But Santa’s luck is about to run out. Santa’s arch-enemy, the evil mad scientist Dr. Shackleton, has found Santa again. Shackleton hates Santa and his stupid holiday, and will stop at nothing to uncover Infinite Santa’s mysterious secrets…and then destroy Infinite Santa once and for all. Dr. Shackleton is no fool. He knows how powerful Infinite Santa is, and has built an army to destroy him and Martha. Batsharks, Crabmonkeys, Dragonfly Snakes, Octo-Blobs, and Skin-Bots - and if they can’t kill Infinite Santa, a 100-foot Evil Easter Bunny should do the trick.

The small town of Shady Grove has a chilling tale connected within itself of a young boy who was
chained to a tree deep in the woods and left to die. He did whatever he needed in order to stay alive
and became a monster from no civilization. Some believe he is just a made up myth or some sort
of mysterious Urban Legend- no one has any real proof he even exists. 

Three friends venture out there for a night of drinking and acting up. This night will change all
of their lives forever. Now Shane is free but still carries the chains that are embedded in his wrists
and he is ready to fuck some shit up. It's years later and a group of five are stuck for the night in
good old Shady Grove but thankfully are invited by Maria to stay at her place. 

  
They drink and enjoy themselves out by the fire until Cristina asks about the legend and for some reason it hits a nerve with Maria. She abruptly jumps up and runs inside. Night of fun is over but the  
blood is about to run rampant. Shane might end up leaving a mark in the slasher family with his
ominous appearance and clanking chains, guess we'll have to wait and see...
